Installation notes

  • Please note the upgrader feature is still experimental and may fail to upgrade your system properly. Thus, you should always keep a copy of your current version and create a backup of your database before installing the new version. You can do this from the 'Maintenance→Backup→Backup database...' and 'Maintenance→Backup→Backup web application...' menus in the Control Central application. To do this, you must be a system administrator.
  • From version 0.9.17.21a, the password hashing method has been changed to ensure compatibility across different PHP versions (older PHP versions before 5.3 are no longer supported). If you are upgrading your current installation and its version is earlier, you have to re-generate password hashes to be able to log in. To do this, either use the forgotten password emails to generate a temporary password for your account, log in with that password, then change your password to create a new hash for your password so you can log in with that password later, or use the password_generate.php script (with password=your_password URL parameter) in the include directory of the web application to generate a new hash for your password, then open the database client application, navigate to the administration_schema.users table and overwrite the existing password hash of your account with the one you generated with the script. To access forgotten password emails module, the mailing (SMTP) configurations must be set properly and email sending must be enabled in the mail_config.php file.

Regular NIS upgrades take place between 8:00pm and 10:00pm (Budapest time zone). If any error occures during the download process, please try again outside this period.
